Efficacy of the non-instrumentation endodontic treatment with CTZ paste in primary molars: Protocol of a multicenter randomized clinical trial with two years of follow-up

Objective: There is a lack of high-quality evidence on the efficacy non-instrumentation endodontic treatment (NIET) in primary molars, compared to conventional technique. This protocol describes multicenter randomized clinical trial that aims evaluate NIET technique for molars using paste containing antibiotics (chloramphenicol and tetracycline – CTZ group) control group root filling with zinc oxide eugenol (ZOE). Methodology: Children aged 3 9 years (N=218) will be randomly allocated one groups: or ZOE. In CTZ, after location canals entrance, irrigation performed 1% sodium hypochlorite placed over canal entrances, no instrumentation canals. ZOE group, manual K-files performed, then, filled paste. At same appointment, teeth restored double-seal glass ionomer bulk fill resin composite. followed-up 6, 12, 18 24 months.
